PolypLab Medic Reef Safe Ich Treatment

Many external fish parasites have very similar life cycles. These stages are an “attached” stage a “matured” stage a 'reproductive' stage and a 'free-swimming' stage (theronts/dinospores).

Other reef safe antiparasitic products do not target the free-swimming stage, which is one of the main difficulties in dealing with these parasites such as Ich. Research with dilated protozoans has shown that the 'free-swimming' stage of parasites have surprisingly consistent hatching times. PolypLab have engineered Medic to be most efficient during this stage.

Medic conditions the aquarium water, disrupting the life cycle during the 'free-swimming' timeframe - when the oxidative component in the product is particularly effective against theronts/dinospores.

Directions:

For in tank application:

Standard use - one level scoop of Medic for every 190L (50 Gallons) of your system volume twice per day.

Heavy use - three level scoops for every 190L (50 Gallons) of your system volume twice per day.

Add to water once in the morning, and once in the evening. Continue to add for 10 days up to a maximum of 20 days to break the life cycle of the parasite in the water. Even if you think the parasites are under control, this is merely part of the natural cycle and you must continue adding Medic for the minimum duration (10 days) to achieve the maximum effect as spores in the water can continue to hatch up to this time. After the application period is complete, run granular activated carbon for 2 or 3 days.

Note: Ozone and carbon must not be used during the application. Protein skimmers can be run as a normal. UV filter can be used one hour after addition.
